Lenalid 5 mg administered orally in capsules, usually for a course of 21 days, followed by a 7-day break. Thus, a 28-day treatment cycle is formed. The purpose and duration of treatment are determined by the doctor. The optimal dose, the duration of treatment depends largely on the clinical picture of the disease, as well as on the individual characteristics of the patient. However, for comparison, in leading clinical studies, the dose of the drug was used in 25 mg daily for 21 days, with a break of 7 days. Patients were treated until myeloma progression began. 2,3 Treatment of myeloma in most cases becomes more effective if two or more drugs are used with different, but synergistic (reinforcing each other), mechanisms of action. In the treatment of myeloma, Lenalidomide is used in combination with the steroid hormone dexamethasone. If treatment is ineffective, it may be necessary to increase the dose or add another drug to the regimen. At achievement of the maximum effect, the dose of drugs can be reduced. If the disease progresses, despite an increase in dosages or the introduction of additional drugs, the doctor, as a rule, changes therapy and switches to alternative treatment regimens.
